2023 POINTSCORE winners

2024 HOTY/POTY/AOR Pointscore

How to get HOTY / POTY / AOR Points

  • Horse of the Year (HOTY) points are awarded for each level from Preliminary through to FEI.

  • Pony of the Year (POTY) points are awarded for each level from Preliminary through to Advance.

  • Amateur Owner Rider (AOR) points are awarded for each level from Preliminary through to FEI.

  • *You must also help out at a show for at least 3 hours over the course of the year.

  • Scores must be 65% or over for Preliminary and Novice.

  • Scores must be 60% or over for Elementary through to FEI level.

  • Maximum of 2 tests per level count towards points.

  • If riding at 2 levels the horse’s score at the higher level will count.

  • Only Official tests will be counted.

  • One horse/rider combination only throughout the qualifying period.

  • Riders that have won HOTY / POTY points once from Preliminary through to Elementary level (incl.) are not eligible to win at the same level in subsequent years. This is to encourage riders to compete the winning horse / pony at the next level the following year.

  • From Medium through to FEI levels, you may win more than once.

  • Member’s Day, all HOTY / POTY points are doubled.

YOUNG RIDER

If you achieve the top YR score in the nominated YR class a YR prize will be awarded and ribbons presented to 8th place.  In general no HOTY / POTY points will be allocated for winning the YR prize. However, if you are in the top 6 overall placing, HOTY / POTY points will be calculated as normal.

We will award a Young Rider of the Year (YROTY) and a Reserve Young Rider of the Year (RYROTY).

Points will be awarded by adding all percentages (not just YR classes) gained throughout the year.  Only highest points will be taken from one mount (best points of the day, no mixing of horses e.g. – horse 1 65% and 55%, horse 2 the 60% and 70% must take both scores of the one horse).
